Attn: Tooth Fairy

Dear Tooth Fairy,

Please stop by our house tonight. Our Big Girl lost her first tooth today! We are very excited. You will find the tooth under her pillow.

Signed,
the Mom and Dad

p.s. Please don't feel obligated to leave more than $1 (even though Popo says you should leave $10). We understand that at $1 per tooth and 20 teeth per mouth and 2 mouths at our house, it will add up fast!

My budding designer

Take a peak at the latest in Halloween Costumes designed by my Big Girl!

I enlarged the line drawing from the pattern instructions and allowed her to color and cut out the pieces of her choice. The result--fabulous red and black cowboy costumes for the 2 of them (designed to match red boots that she owns and a black hat of the Little Man's). Now Mommy needs to get busy!

Room Mom Woes

I got suckered! A very persuasive PTA chairperson snookered me good! Now, I'm a room mom.

My first assignment: staffing 2 booths for the school carnival. No sweat! I just sent home the standard "sign-up for a time" letter. And surprise of surprises, I got 10 replies!!!! That's plenty of volunteers--or at least it was, until I realized they ALL signed up for the SAME hour and the SAME booth!!!!!

Needless to say, I have spent several hours on the phone sweetly requesting parents to take a different time slot. It has all gone well, just taken an entire evening. Oh well. In the words of a friend: "Dust Bunnies Rejoice!!! The PTA has taken over!!!"

Another Bad Mommy Moment

Okay, so it was nothing illegal--I just forgot the camera on the biggest day of my 2-year-old's summer! But I'll never live it down.

The Little Man caught his first fish today. Actually, he caught 2 of them. PoPo found a hot brim bed, and everyone was reeling them in. What fun!

Just as exciting: LSU vs. Virginia Tech Tonight!!!

Gotta love those Saints

You know, after last year, I really was afraid that the world was ending--after all, why else would the Saints take the NFC West and make it one step from the Super Bowl?

But, not to worry. All is as it should be. We lost. I won't repost the score, as it is painful! So, let's look on the bright side:

  • We lost to last year's champs, not some other losing team.
  • This isn't the first year that the Saints have started with a loss--and it won't be the last.
  • We still have 15 games to go. in the regular season.
  • My 2nd favorite team won!

Things I learned while Hubby-Dearest was in the hospital

He's home now. There is the lingering vestiage of infection in his elbow, but I think he finally beat this staph. Here are a few things that I learned during the past 2 weeks:

  1. Nurses are angels.
  2. Men are not good patients, but they will consent to treatment when the wife insists.
  3. How to vaccuum the swimming pool.
  4. A 2-hour nap in your husband's arms in a hospital bed is more refreshing than 6 hours at home.
  5. A true friend not only watches your kids, but also washes your dishes.
  6. Sometimes, the laundry just has to wait.
  7. Don't forget to feed the dog.
  8. UNO + jigsaw puzzles + 2 children = quality family time.

Are you ready for some football???

Saints vs. Colts TONIGHT!!!!
It's football season! And tonight's the game I wish we'd seen last February! Archie's boy vs. Archie's team. What a fun kick-off to the fall! Hopefully, I'll still think so tomorrow...
Speaking of this beautiful and fun time of year, be on the lookout for my new fall designs at PersonaliTy Children's Clothes. I'm adding my new Halloween designs this weekend, including a gingham bat, an applique pumpkin, and a sassy candy corn for those "not so little" girls!

Family Update

I haven't had the opportunity to even sit down at the computer since last Wednesday. Hubby-dearest picked up a nasty staph infection and is in the hospital. After 2 MDs and a couple of different oral antibotics, it was decided that he needed vancomyacin, which he can only get via IV. So, there he sits, still waiting...
